Coming Out of the Trees (excerpts from my therapy journal)

For each post, there is a significant lag in time between the date the journal entry was written (shown in the heading of the post) and the date the post was published to the blog.

The time lag allows me the opportunity to alter names and other identifying data for privacy purposes, check for grammar and spelling errors, break longer passages into smaller parts, and add the tags, categories, photos, quotes and url links.

It also provides a buffer against the natural “ebb and flow” in the volume of therapeutic writing I produce. After all, I do have a life outside of therapy, LOL.

Now, about comments . . .

Let me be very clear . . . you are free to comment in anyway you wish.

However, some people have wondered how to comment in this quirky "time-lagged" format. So, here are some ideas:

1) Have you had a similar experience? Tell us about it!

2) Do you have another way of looking at what happened? Sometimes, it is easier to hold a "big picture" view when you are outside looking in. We would love to hear your perspective!

3) Can you offer a potential solution for the problem? I know that the opportunity for me to utilize your suggestion may have passed because of the time lag. But, that doesn't mean it won't come up for me again at a later date (maybe right now?) And, another of my blog's readers might be dealing with the same issue at this very moment. Go ahead, share what you have to offer!

In conclusion, there aren't really any rules -- this time-lagged format is unfamiliar territory for all of us . . . so, anything goes!
